Three Honest Reasons to Hire Me
July 10, 2026 · 3 min read · Sean Love
There are thousands of licensed agents in Northern Virginia. Most of them are decent people who work hard. So when someone asks why they should hire me instead, I think the question deserves a real answer, not a slogan.
Here are three, told plainly.
1. I listen before I search
Most agents start with inventory. I start with your story.
Before we look at a single listing, I want to know how you actually live. Whether you cook. Whether you need morning light. Whether the yard is for a dog, a garden, or just quiet. A house that photographs well and a house that fits your life are two different things, and the difference only shows up if someone takes the time to ask.
That first conversation costs you nothing, and it saves months of touring homes that were never right.
2. I read the ground, not just the house
I pay attention to the things that do not show up in listing photos. Which way the lot faces. Where the water goes when it rains. How the sun moves across the back of the property in January. Whether the slope behind the fence is a feature or a future problem.
Countertops can be replaced in a weekend. A wet basement and a garden that never gets sun cannot. When I walk a property with you, we talk about what the place actually is, not what it was staged to look like.
3. I will tell you not to buy
This is the one that surprises people.
I served in the military starting in 2012, and I carried the same idea into real estate: the job is your outcome, not my commission. If a house has a problem, you will hear it from me first, in plain language. If the smart move is to wait a season, I will say so, even when saying so costs me a sale.
I would rather lose a deal than have you lose sleep in the wrong house.
If that sounds like how you want to be represented, reach out. The first conversation is just a conversation.
