Alexandria & USA Birthday Celebration

This year is a big one. Alexandria turns 277 and the United States turns 250 (the Semiquincentennial). The city throws its annual birthday celebration down on the waterfront at Oronoco Bay Park, with music, a cannon salute, the birthday cake, and fireworks over the Potomac to close the night.

Come Find Us

My family and I plan to be there from around 5:00 PM until the fireworks wrap up near 10:00 PM. If you're coming out, I'd genuinely love to connect, say hello, and see each other in person, no agenda, just neighbors enjoying a good evening.

Good to Know

• Free and open to the public.

• It's a popular evening, so the city encourages car-free transportation (walk, bike, rideshare, or transit) to skip the Old Town parking crunch.

• Bring a blanket or chairs for the fireworks.
